The Testimony Behind SoKellie

A story of loss, faith, strength, motherhood, and divine restoration.

What is SoKellie?

SoKellie™ is the part of my brand built on testimony — the real-life moments, battles, breakthroughs, and blessings that shaped me. It is where I tell my story, give back, and speak to the women who are walking through what I’ve survived.

It’s healing. It’s purpose. It’s legacy. It’s becoming.

This Is My Becoming

I became a single mother not by choice, but by force. Both of my daughters lost their fathers to violent crimes before either were even thirteen months old, and in those moment, the life I imagined for us vanished. The grief, fear, and shock of those seasons pulled me into decisions rooted in pain rather than clarity, eventually leading to legal consequences and eighteen months of probation. But even that chapter became a turning point. It opened my eyes to the truth that I couldn’t continue repeating the trauma I had lived through. I needed to change for myself, and for my daughters. Growing up without a father shaped me in ways I didn’t understand at the time, leaving me searching for protection, love, and stability in places that could never offer it. That journey taught me resilience, even before I knew that’s what it was.

As life began to stabilize and my faith grew stronger, another storm arrived: a breast cancer diagnosis in 2025. The natural reaction was fear, the thought of my daughters growing up without either parent, was more than my heart could carry. But instead of panic, what came over me was a supernatural calm. A deep knowing that God had me, and God had my girls. Even as I faced treatment and uncertainty, I felt a strength that wasn’t mine alone. And then the miracle happened: seven days after my very first treatment, I could no longer feel the 3.1 cm mass in my breast. At my second treatment, my oncologist confirmed the same. Even in the storm, God was showing me He was in control.

Through every season, the losses, the mistakes, the motherhood, the rebuilding, the diagnosis, God softened me, strengthened me, and guided me into purpose. Today, both of my daughters are thriving: my oldest is a dual-major student at the University of Maryland with a GPA above 3.5, and my youngest is nearly a 4.0 jstudent in high school and in a cosmetology program, preparing to graduate with her license. We live in our own home. I have a successful career as a project manager. And every single day, I see evidence of God’s protection, provision, and promises fulfilled.

SoKellie™ was born from these testimonies — from what I’ve survived, from what God has restored, and from the women I hope to inspire. This brand is more than my story; it’s my offering. It’s where I pour back into the places God delivered me from: single motherhood, grief, fear, mistakes, healing, rebuilding faith, and choosing purpose over pain. My life is my testimony, and my testimony is my ministry. And every day, I choose to press “GO,” not because I am fearless, but because obedience finally replaced fear.

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
